Who we are

Common Purpose is a not-for-profit devoted to developing leaders who can cross boundaries. Between geographies, generations, sectors, specializations, backgrounds and beliefs. Both at work and in society.

We live in a world full of complex problems. These problems cross boundaries. Yet most leaders do not.

What we do

In these challenging times, the demand for effective leadership – in our organizations and in society – has never been greater. We face problems that are complex and interconnected – problems that can only be solved by leaders who see the bigger picture and adapt to an ever-changing context.

Founded in 1989, we run highly interactive and immersive face-to-face and online leadership programmes. We have more than 85,000 alumni worldwide.

Our cutting-edge leadership frameworks, unrivalled convening power and unique approach to experiential learning mean that we can deliver powerful leadership programmes that create lasting impact. Specifically, we develop leaders who are more collaborative, more inclusive, and who have broader horizons.

What we've done

Last year, we worked with leaders from over 1,000 organizations including: BAE Systems, British Red Cross, Co-op Group, EY, Harvard University, Hermes, Newcastle University, NHS England, PwC, Rolls Royce, Scottish Government, Unilever, University of Edinburgh, and West Midlands Police.
